Learning Center
The Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) curriculum materials are intentionally
implemented in a unique individualized manner. After students have been diagnosed and
placed in the curriculum at their performance levels they are assigned study carrels
located around the perimeter of a classroom called a Learning Center. These study
carrels form an integral part of the A.C.E. experience and are referred to as student
"offices."
The individual offices purposely minimize distraction and permit students to focus on
their responsibilities. To provide maximum privacy and effectiveness a student
"office" should be accommodating in size (at least a 24" x 30" work
surface, see Furniture Drawings)*, have adequate lighting
(at least 75 to 100 candle power over the work area), and be decorated with items that
point their minds consciously and subconsciously toward Biblical values.
Teachers supervise the Learning Center and move from student to student providing
tutoring as required. Learning takes place when students receive and assimilate new
information. The A.C.E. materials are designed to present the new information using the
printed page, audio-video equipment and computers.
Learning Center teachers most effectively apply their professional skills when they
recognize students as a sacred trust and faithfully train them to take responsibility
for their own learning. A.C.E.'s combination of quality academic tools and the love and
prayer of Godly teachers has consistently yielded the peaceable fruits of righteousness
and excellent academic achievement in the lives of students around the globe.
