The A.C.E Advantage
Assessing when a child is ready to read is critical to his development as a student. A.C.E.’s reading programs are designed to meet your students’ needs at the appropriate time. To determine where a child is academically and developmentally, a child aged 4, 5, or 6 is given the ABCs with Ace and Christi Pretest. If he passes the Pretest, the child is ready for the ABCs with Ace and Christi program, or Level 1. If he does not pass the Pretest, he is enrolled in the Kindergarten with Ace and Christi program.

Kindergarten with Ace and Christi

The 36-week program features a complete scope and sequence utilizing all the developmental skills needed to prepare a child to read. Students will begin to read at different stages of the program, depending upon their maturity and capability.
  • Bible and animal pictures emphasize phonics and visual recognition.
  • Activities support coordination development.
  • Full-color picture stories motivate reading.
  • PACEs provide practice in all developmental skills.

ABCs with Ace and Christi

A.C.E.’s phonetic reading program—often referred to as Level 1—is designed to prepare a child for the individualized instruction of the PACE curriculum. Within a period of 12 to 15 weeks, phonics is reinforced through animal pictures, songs, and stories. Physical and character development skills are built through poems, displays, and a variety of activities. These features help him learn:
  • Letter sounds
  • Alphabet sequence
  • Word relationships
Following this 12- to 15-week program, the child is administered the Post Test to determine if he is ready to begin the self-paced individualized program.

Discerning—Having the insight and sympathetic understanding into a difficult situation and being able to make an accurate judgment. And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean. Ezekiel 44:23
